Anodyne Magazine

October 1997 – April 1999

A couple of my favorite covers. Someday I will have to expand this to a full shrine.

Some Anodyne alumni include Tiffany Lee Brown, Barry Deutsch,
Miriam Zellnik, T.W. Washington, Emily Gertz, Kip Manley, Scott D. Lewis,
Kevin Sampsell, Charles Seaton, Jamie Rich, Larry Lewis, Kevin Moore,
Doug Spangle, Rod Miller, Amy Sacks, Anne Thorpe, Greg Tozian and,
of course, publisher Val Cashman.

You can read the Article that Miriam Zellnik orginally
wrote for Anodyne on Portland’s Shanghai Tunnels.

Amy Sack’s collage art done for the cover of February 1999 can
be seen at the Amy Sacks Gallery; it’s the one titled “Big Heart”.

Also, check out the cartoon Barry Deutsch did for Anodyne,
Pre-Structuralist Funnies. He has also posted Interspecies Drag in his journal in which
he detailshis adventures as a crossdressing duck, first written for Anodyne in 1997.

Kip Manley has also posted to his journal an article he had written for
the August 1998 issue of Anodyne entitled Why you don't read comics.

Writing I did for Anodyne and then incorporated into my journal include, The Other Fish in the Sea
and If you can’t say anything nice... . Another journal entry that is just like something I might've
written for Anodyne is Spent all my money on booze and strippers.
