Still learning Photoshop after all these years (that’s about 15 now)

I personally just discovered Photoshop’s Shadow/Highlight filter this past weekend when I asked the internet how to improve an image taken in shadow.

Below is a before and after example of a photo I primarily improved with said filter, then fine tuned with curves and color balance. (You can find the filter in your top Photoshop Menu: Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight…)

I’m always amazed how much information a digital photo will hold, whether you can see it or not. The trick is teasing it out, which the Shadow/Highlight filter does amazingly quickly.
