Oh, I’m so going to regret this
Meaning making a cat bed for my cat on the worktable behind my drafting table as I draw:

Beezel is kinda ‘my’ cat–beyond naming him, as the runt he fits my lap quite nicely, whereas the more robustly built Kali and Thurber requires a man’s lap, ie Kip. Who’s been gone this weekend, making all the cats feel out of sorts.
But like I said, as cute as this is, I might not want to make him feel so welcome on my worktable, especially in those times I have, say, work on it. And beyond that, there’s Thurber’s woeful befuddlement as to where Beezel has gotten to:

He’s actually not too wrong direction-wise. Nor looking for him up the door frame.

So traveling is generally a pain, especially on airlines that force you to be on the move from 6pm-10pm but don’t serve you more than a skimpy bag of pretzels and were taken a back when I asked for a slice of lime in my alcohol free club soda.
But being picked up curbside in prompt time in a quaintly boxy maroon Scion by a frazzled but upbeat hip professor/mad inventor type (aka Patrick Farley) and then ordering a hummus pizza via cell on the drive home and having said pizza be delivered moments after we arrived at the humble abode is pretty darn perfect.
This was followed by 8 solid hours of heroic sleep, being greeted by a vigorous rain as upon waking which was worth walking through for a latte who’s mellow buzz I’m still riding, some damn fine Irish oatmeal with maple syrup and banana and shopping at a butcher’s a cheese shop and a produce market all within a block of each other for Patrick’s mad feast tonight. The produce market smelled wonderful and it was entertaining to follow Patrick as he bushed the cart full of groceries home, navigating broken sidewalks and puddles. Yes, Patrick will be taking the cart back he openly borrowed when he goes to the fish market for oysters.
Having served Kip coffee in a French press (Kip stayed in to sleep even more than us wimps) he is now putting away groceries and straightening the kitchen so he can prep chickens. I’ll be grating cheese for pesto. And sounds like Lori will be here very, very soon.
Moral: The best part about doing comics is you get to hang out with cartoonists and their friends.
