I got yer comics right here
Well, there’s the new one from Erika, I Like Girls. I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek the initial pencils for this a while back and so have been waiting somewhat patiently for the final, which I think she executed masterfully.
And Kris has been restarting “Max and Lily” over at her site. With a more luxurious panel size that allows her more room for her gorgeous textures.
And then there’s this one that Kip found by Al Sacui whose name I do not know, but god it’s beautiful. You click to advance and zoom in, and sometimes get an additional surprise Sometimes you have to find what object carries you forward.
Enjoy.

Just mowed a lawn for the first time in about twenty years. Sucks just about as much as I remembered. And I think I bruised my palm. Saw the creepiest looking ice cream driver go by when I was finishing up.
The best part of this afternoonÐbeyond being done mowingÐwas checking my email and only having two spam mails make it pass my various filters. One was offering to tell me how I could become an ordained minister, the other offering me an opportunity to become a high paid call girl. Something appealing about taking them both up on their respective offers.

It always amuses me when Kip gets smittened with one fictional character or another. This time out it’s Sir Humphrey Appleby from the 1980s BBC series, Yes, Minister.
Not that Sir Humphrey isn’t worthy. Still, it amuses.

So, Kip cc’d me on an email exchange between he and a couple of friends in the grand hope of arranging a sit down over a meal and maybe a video entertainment of some sort.
This is how we usually give each other a heads up about potential social plans. There had been some back and forth before I was brought in to the email loop; this was a line from one of the emails in the history:
That drag queen grand theft auto picture almost writes itself, don’t it.
Okay, someone missed something somewhere. I suspect it might be me.

So there’s been a mild broo-ha-ha in some of the circles I travel and lurk in over this month’s Comixpeida cover (not work safe) for there sex and violence issue.
There has been some rants and inspired responses (also not work safe), but I think what gets to me is the fact that it’s statistically inaccurate. Statistically speaking that should be a guy humping his iMac.
I mean, I know why this was the most, uh, natural choice for the artist and editors. I mean beyond the whole object and objectifier debate. I don’t even think it’s all about the “male gaze.” No, it’s that in the heart of every male, there reposes a drag queen. (The fishnets gave it away.)
