I believe Lord of the Rings III is the geatest movie. it doesn't happen very often when a screen version of a book is as powerful as the book itself... It's more than words can say, and it deserves the best of awards.

Yeah, I heard Diesel say something like Pitch Black was The Hobbit to Riddick's Lord of the Rings. Since I haven't seen Pitch Black, I have no idea what he's talking about.

The Village looked good. Troy looks like a waste of time, since I bet Brad Pitt is playing Achilles, which means he won't be snuggling with Patrocles, darn the luck. Hellboy looked like, well, Hellboy. And Gary Oldman's playing Sirius Black, and was that Alan Rickman in old lady drag? Heck, I'm there. —But Angelina Jolie in a tight uniform with an eyepatch? Um, and lotsofcoolretro'30sdesign, yeahyeah. Homina homina, baby; I'm in the theater for that one.

(The Mask 2? I also saw a poster for Aliens vs. Predator. And, of course, Hellboy. Dark Horse must be thrilled.)

Jenn, did you and Kip know that "...Riddick" is actually a sequel to "Pitch Black"? The name of V. Diesel's character is the clue, I guess, but still. Talk about a departure. Now if I could only figure out what genre they are trying to stand on its head...

You guys get a sidedish of retrofitted-1930's nostalgia with your midget-packed cinematic main course, while *I* get a trailer for the goddamed sequel to "The Mask"? (Featuring a wretchedly-rendered CG jive-dancing baby, no less!) There's no justice in today's movie palaces, i tells ya.
