Licorice & Slippery Elm
That’s the tea I’m drinking, ’cause while some are still getting their San Diego Comic-Con reports done and photos up, I am still nursing my post-Con cold.
I usually get a bit ill after a Con, makes sense what with all the traveling, stress, huge groups of humanity, poor eating habits and unrestful sleep, the last being no slam against my lovely hosts Lori and Kate, it’s just the whole not sleeping in one’s bed thing.
This one has just been hanging on longer than usual and had the audacity to peak over the weekend. This isn’t going to interfer with me getting up a new page of Dicebox, in fact I feel I did some nice bit of art this time out. Heck, I sometimes do my best stuff when I’m not feeling so great physically. Helps me to understand how so many artists can keep going while in the throes of consumption.
But it did get in the way of my enjoying the Suzanne Vega concert Friday night and has made me fall behind on some things, like emails. (Though those who have received emails from me these past few days have had to deal with a less lucid me.) Also, I’ve noticed some bobbles in this web space that I’d really like to fix.
Really, if it wasn’t also so freakin’ hot, this would be no big deal. Gah, I hate summer colds. Especially since the only thing soothing my throat is hot tea. Oh well, at least my being at the Con prevented me from contracting the strain of Strep Throat that was going around the office in my absense.
